Nicolas Cage, star of such films as "Leaving Las Vegas" and "The Rock," is completely broke and is in serious debt. He is officially selling his properties from all over the world.
Box-office star and veteran actor Nicolas Cage is in debt and will now begin to sell off his properties from all over the globe to gain capital, according to Show Biz Gossip. The 45-year-old actor is blaming his business manager, Samuel J. Levin, because he “sent him down to financial ruin” and is slapping him with a lawsuit for $20 million.
On the Flix released a statement from Cage’s lawsuit, “Instead of protecting and preserving Cage’s wealth during one of the greatest economic periods in the country’s history, Levin placed Cage in numerous highly speculative and risky real estate investments, resulting in Cage suffering catastrophic losses.”
Last month, Sky News reported that Cage owed $6 million to the Internal Revenue Service for unpaid taxes. It was also reported in the same week that Cage defaulted on a $2 million loan, which later he was forced to sell a castle in Bavaria, Germany because of his financial difficulties. Other homes owned by Cage have been reportedly foreclosed and his home in Rhode Island is being closed, according to Film.com.
Cage currently has six films slated to be released in the next two years, including a film by John Carpenter and a comic-book movie called “Kick-Ass.”
