At noon, radio station FAN 590 is reporting that Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Jonas Gustavsson may be hurt. Gustavsson started last night in net when the Leafs faced the Senators.
The report came around noon today when the Leafs took the ice for practice and Vesa Toskala was the only goalie on the ice.
Gustavsson started in his first NHL game last night against the Ottawa Senators and lost 2-1. However, Gustavsson looked solid making 26 saves and only letting two goals past him, one off a questionable high stick from Shean Donovan and the other off a penalty shot from Daniel Alfredsson.
The Swedish goaltender showed no signs of tweeking something in the game last night and therefore reports believe that if Gustavsson is hurt, its nothing serious.
Toronto's goaltending battle continues when the Leafs meet the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday in a game which hockey central analyst, Nick Kypreos believes that Gustavsson should start over Toskala.
But if Gustavsson is hurt then Toskala may get his shot at redeeming himself and earning his spot back as the Maple Leafs number one net minder.
