The Lebanese Culture and Information Ministry announced an office of an Arab TV station was closed after it broadcast an interview with a Saudi man speaking frankly about sex.
In addition to the sex talk, the guest showed off a few erotic toys.
The office of LBC, a Lebanese-based satellite TV station, in the western city of Jeddah was closed because of the program; It is also unlicensed.
“The closure is indefinite,” Abdel-Rahman al-Hazza, the spokesman of the Culture and Information Ministry said.
Mazen Abdel-Jawad has been in detention since last Friday. he is begging forgiveness for appearing on LBC’s “Bold Red Line” program and apparently discussed his sexual exploits.
The show opens with Abdel-Jawad apparently talking about the first time he had sex – at age 14 with a neighbor. He then took gave a tour of his bedroom where he says: “Everything happens in this room.”
Sulaiman al-Jumeii, Abdel-Jawad’s lawyer, claims his client was not aware in many instances that he was being recorded and the show was manipulated. The lawyer claims the sex toys were provided by the LBC staff.
Many Saudis say he should be severely punished and over 200 people have filed legal complaints against Mazen Abdel-Jawad.
In Beirut, LBC’s chief Pierre Daher on Sunday maintained his company’s no-comment policy
