Self expression is always a touchy subject for some but its truly the core of understanding one's own body. On May 2, San Francisco will be shooting off their own fireworks of sorts as the 2009 Masturbate-a-thon gets underway.
As the ultimate in safe-sex, masturbation has often been seen as the forbidden pleasure or as a means to an end. However, some groups believe that it is deserving of much more than a simple honorable mention or back burner title.
On May 2, 2009, the Center for Sex & Culture will host the masturbatory event that has stroked thousands of, well, happy participants for over a decade.
On the event website, a pledge drive is underway for "Featured Masturbators" whose self-pleasuring race to the win will be followed by webcast:
We are still seeking Featured Masturbators this year (who can be pledged ahead of time and followed on the webcast), and we will have Voyeur Seating available as well as Private Public Space (where people can masturbate who do not wish to be seen on the webcast). We hope to see you -- or be seen by you! -- on May 2nd, this year's Live San Francisco Masturbate-a-Thon!
In year's past, pledges from around the country and even as far as London have made the stroke of pleasure. This year, Denmark is hosting its own Masturbate-a-thon event. Its brought in over $25,000 to what is appropriately considered a "selfish" cause.
During the event, there are a few rules to follow:
Participants must be at least 18 years of age.
Collect all money yourself and send it to us in one check.
Alternately, you can send your pledgers to our donate page
No one can masturbate you but you!
Pledges can be made in different areas such as number of orgasms or total time spent choking the chicken. And of course, there is Voyeur seating available, although certain restrictions apply. And of course, personal attendance is not required as you can pledge to crank the shaft from your home. This year's competition grouping includes: Longest Squirt Distance, Longest Time Spent Masturbating, Most Orgasms and Tag Team Masturbation.
Last year, winning times and numbers were as follows with Japan doing well in the event:
Longest Time Spent Masturbating/Male kept it up for 9 hours and 33 minutes. Tokyo, Japan.
Longest Time Spent Masturbating/Female stroked the cat for 7 hours and 6 minutes.
Most Orgasms/Male: 31
Most Orgasms/Female: 20
Longest Distance Come to Come (another Tokyo shooter).
So if you are interested in more than a little game of pocket pool, this event could be for you.
The Center for Sex & Culture is a non-judgmental organization that focuses on education and sex rather than shame and false information. The event is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization devoted to positive sex education for adults.
