By Bob Ewing.
On this day in 1989, Sir Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web or as it is better known the Web; the impact of this young breakthrough has been phenomenal.
What may be even more exciting is to think about where the Web is going in the future.
Not surprisingly, Berners-Lee has some great ideas about where the web should go next. He pictures a major advance that could serve as the foundation for innovations that we can't even imagine today.
One year ago, Berners-Lee said all the pieces needed to build a new Semantic Web are now in place.
In February, he gave an impassioned talk at the high-profile TED conference about a related concept called Linked Data.
