George Obama has been arrested In Kenya for possession of marijuana. This would not be a news flash if it wasn't the common father that George shares with his half brother Barack.
George claims that the police took him from his home. He is denying allegations that he was in possession of Bhang (the name for marijuana in Kenya) and resisting arrest. He is being held in a police post in Nairobi.
George is the last of Barack Obama, Sr.'s children. Obama Senior died in a car accident when George was just six months old. Both brothers grew up without knowing their father. That's about all that they share.
George has not heard about his successful brother until last year when Barack Junior took America by storm.
Vanity Fair ran a story that George Obama lived in a shack and earning less than an American dollar a day. That article angered George. He is quoted by CNN on his feelings.
"I was brought up well. I live well even now," he said. "The magazines, they have exaggerated everything.
"I think I kind of like it here. There are some challenges, but maybe it is just like where you come from, there are the same challenges," Obama said.
At that time the younger half brother of Barack Obama said that he was learning to become a mechanic and active in youth groups in Huruma.
