Obama: Anything Is Possible In America

In two days, it will be January 20. On that day, Barack Obama will assume the United States Presidency. On Election Day back in November 4, 2008, it was the Democratic President-Elect that won by a landslide victory over GOP nominee Senator John McCain of Arizona. It was considered a groundbreaking, historic, and symbolic victory. The days that prelude to Obama’s inauguration are going to be interesting. Saturday, January 17 marked the start of four days of celebration. Obama and VP-Elect Joe Biden started things off by taking a train tour on a whistle-stop train. The tour would start from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and stop at Washington DC. Today, it was a bigger celebration. It would be an open event at the Lincoln Memorial. Musical artists performing were U2, Bruce Springsteen, Beyonce, and Usher. Obama said that “anything is possible in America.” For that, Obama is right. Anything is possible, good or bad. “Despite the enormity of the task that lies ahead – I stand here today as hopeful as ever that the United States of America will endure – that the dreams of our founders will live on in our time,” Obama said in front of the crowd. On Monday, it will be Martin Luther King Day. Army General and former US Secretary of State Colin Powell will lead a drive to provide community service. He will be working with Renew America Together. On Tuesday, January 20, it will be the big day. It will be Inauguration Day. One can count on January 20 being a very big day. After the celebrations are over, Obama will need to bring his S+ game. Obama will be plagued with numerous international and domestic problems. On Day One, Obama will need to immerse himself in the “game.” Anything is possible. One question should be asked: How will Obama tackle all these problems that will be looming over his head?
