On Tuesday, charges were filed against Ernesto Talavera-Nunez Tuesday after the August 12 death of his 11-month old infant. The infant died when his heart stopped due to electrocution.
Denver - The
Greeley man was charged with class-three felony child abuse, meaning he negligently caused the baby, Christian Luis Talavera-Garcia's death. It is alleged that the father, Ernesto Talavera-Nunez, had been working on an alarm clock at their home, then left the alarm clock's exposed wires within the infant's reach.
The Greeley police found the
toddler dead upon arrival to the home. The autopsy revealed that the baby boy had electrical burns and had died from cardiac arrest.
If convicted, Talavera-Nunez could face a sentence of probation, community corrections or four to 16 years in prison.
There has been no court date set for this case.
