Today Rafael Nadal took away, not without any troubles, the Wimbledon Cup after a long fight of 4 hours and 48 minutes against Roger Federer.
Indeed, after a fast defeat the same year at Roland Garros against his competitor Rodger Federer, Nadal took away the cup of Wimbledon.

An exceptional ascent of Federer

After the gain of the two first sets 6-4,6-4, Rafa thought he would get rid of his Swiss opponent in the same way as Roland Garros (6-1,6-3,6-0).

However, the Swiss showed his courage by winning the third and fourth sets 6-7,6-7 and by saving several match points.

Nevertheless, Rodger will grant the fifth set after an hour and seven minutes 9-7.
Finally the Spanish player will win the game 6-4,6-4,6-7,6-7,9-7.

At the top of his career, Nadal counts now five Grand Slam titles on his trophy shelf. Borg was the last one to take away Roland Garros and Wimbledon the same year and Nadal seems not to want disappoint his fans for the following of his career.

I saw some of it, epic game, missed it because of the rain breaks. I hope Federer comes back and wins some more, he could have easily won this match, he had too many break points. Thanks for the update.

I love Federer but I have to admit Nadal is really impressive this year.
    Did you follow Roland Garros?

I agree, he should be the number 1 this year. Federer seems to have lost touch this year, hope he recovers. Yes, I followed Rolan Garros a bit, Nadal beat him real bad. Nadal will win more French titles for sure. He will become another Tennis great.

I watched it all, best match Ive seen in years. It was superb. Federer coming back from 2 sets down (he should have won the 2nd set in all honesty) to level, the rain breaks messing with both players. It was fantastic ! Simply superb, to see the 2 titans of the game battle it out over 5 sets with the final set without a tie-break ie sudden death for loss of serve ... magic.
