Best Wildlife Photos of 2007

by bluecharlie.
The 2007 Shell Wildlife Photographer of the Year winners have been announced. These pictures are not only beautiful but miraculously & amazingly captured. Only patience and persistence could have captured these images on film.
This Jackson Pollock-esque portrait of a bull elephant splattering muddy water was voted best overall photo.

The winning images were unveiled yesterday at the Natural History Museum in London. There were a record number 32,000 entries received from both professional and amateur photographers.

The photo pictured here was captured by British photographer Ben Osborne who spent three weeks staking out Botswana's Chobe National Park.

The National Geographic reports, This huge bull was the first to indulge in a head-to-toe spa,” Osborne said in a statement. “I focused on the center of the action—an explosion of texture and color.”

Due to my love of nature and photography I just had to post this article. Follow the above link to see the other winners. My vote out of the five winners shown in the article would have to be this one and if there could've been a second place I'd have voted for the 'Wild Places' Winner.
