An Indian farmer, 73, failed for the 38th time in trying to pass his high school exams. He took a vow that he won't marry until he passes his final exams. He has plans already to take the exams next year.
A 73-year-old Indian farmer who vowed not to marry before passing his high school exams has failed to get through for the 38th time.

Shiv Charan Yadav first took the high school exams in 1969, he failed and he has been taking the exams ever since and failed each time. When he took the exams the first time he was 30 years old and he made a vow that he won’t marry until he passes the exam. He remains unmarried because of this.

This year also he saw the same results; he failed in every subject except Sanskrit, an old classical language in India. He scored 103 out of 600 points.

He blamed mathematics for his low scores, said it was the hardest of all subjects and it got his scores very much lower.

"Once I pass I want to get married to a girl who's under 30," Yadav, who lives alone in Kohari village in the western desert state of Rajasthan, told Reuters.

He has not given up hope, he is already preparing for the next year’s exams, which will be his 39th attempt.

I hope the administrators show some mercy and pass him the next time or somebody should tutor him and help him pass the exams. Hope he fulfills his dreams.
