Barack Obama joins Twitter, social network and expands his base and reach
Barack Obama, presidential hopeful for the 2008 elections, has created a Twitter profile
Twitter has become a buzz word everywhere, and many are flocking into the site in droves. What is Twitter lets one stay in touch with their friends and keep them updated what they are doing. If there is an update in one’s site, Twitter will send messages to their group of friends via an SMS Message or they can check the web page to see the updates. Same way they will receive updates about their friends when they update similarly in Twitter site.
Twitter was introduced last year, its total membership and page views have increased tremendously. You can see Twitter’s increase in page views here. Barack wants to join this new buzz trend. He wants to share his current status, where he is, what he is up to etc., with his group of backers for his presidential elections. Whenever Barack Obama updates his group of friends will receive an update simultaneously. His site in Twitter looks like the following:
Barack Obama already has a MySpace account and also he has a profile set up in YouTube and shares his views with the audience. In his main site he has a social network of bloggers, who campaign for him all across the US. So joining Twitter will expand his base more.
Once the Twitter user becomes a friend or follower of Barack Obama, will then start receiving updates as soon as Obama updates his profile in Twitter.
Also another Presidential hopeful John Edwards has a Twitter account.
This Twitter account of Barack Obama will help spread his message quickly.
