YouTube changes its stance and will help Thailand in removing the offensive clips.
YouTube was banned by Thailand after it showed a offensive clip making fun of King Bhumibol Adulyadej. YouTube didn't take down the clip even after several requests from Thailand Government, also the Buddhists felt offensive about the video.
After banning, there was a serious debate on the global level whether Thailand went too far or YouTube have the right to show the clips. Butsince then, YouTube seems to have changed their stance. It will take a cooperative route and will assist Thailand to block certain pages that the Country feels offensive.
Google is acting as a liaison between the YouTube video sharing site and Thailand. Probably Google and YouTube don't want to create another controversy in taking down the videos like Viacom episode and also don't want to cause a stir with Thailand Government.
The video is offensive I understand but if they take down the clip for every protest then everybody can do the same for other videos. Who knows this clip will be a skit in Saturday Night Live or in South Park, what will happen then? Is it OK for Thai Government to let the users watch other videos that mock Bush, Blair and others but not their own?
