A train derailment in southern California dumped litres of blue cheese salad dressing into a canal leading to the Salton Sea.
Cleaning up the mess will take a few days, according to Union Pacific officials. 19 of the train's 52 cars derailed. The cause of the derailment and the exact amount of materials spilled have not been determined yet. Luckily, the train's three crew members were not injured.
As hazardous materials specialist Robert Becker said, "There was blue cheese--a lot of it."
I didn't realize blue cheese salad dressing qualified as a hazardous material. Better watch out when dumping it on your salad.
