Records showed Hernandez to be 128, but Guinness never acknowledged.
"SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador - A Salvadoran woman believed to be 128 years old and possibly the world's oldest person, has died, a family friend said Friday."
Cruz Hernandez was born on May 3, 1878, in central El Salvador died on Thursday. A close friend of the family said she was feeling sick and drank a glass of milk, went to sleep and then just never woke up.
Cruz had 13 children, 60 grandchildren, 80 great-grandchildren, 25 great-great grandchildren.
It is reported that her favorite drink was beer with two raw eggs in it.
The national registry of El Salvador is trying to get the Guiness book of world records to make her the world's oldest person. But Guiness isn't responding to them.
"According to Guinness, the longest any woman has lived is 122 years. The oldest man was 120 when he died in 1986."
She would bust that record by 7 years.
